Man charged with 3 felonies after crashing SUV into propane tank during chase

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was charged with three felonies after authorities say he crashed into a propane tank during a chase on Thursday night.
Diamon Davis, 42, was charged with aggravated fleeing, drug possession and second-degree drug trafficking. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. An arraignment was held Friday afternoon.
According to the probable cause statement, a Columbia police officer was driving east on East St. Charles Road around 11:40 pm. Thursday when a 2010 Ford Escape drove in the wrong lane while trying to pass another vehicle and almost caused an accident. The officer turned on his sirens and Davis sped away, the statement says.
The Ford apparently crashed into a “propane tank structure” in a parking lot near the intersection of North Keene Street and East St. Charles Road, the statement says. A passenger in the Ford was injured from the crash, the statement says. Davis got out of the vehicle and laid on the ground, court documents say.
Police apparently found methamphetamine and PCP when they approached the vehicle, court documents say.
