A man was charged on Monday with multiple felonies in a Boone County shooting.

Anthony Durell Sharp, 52, of Columbia, was charged with first-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, illegal gun possession and armed criminal action. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. An initial court appearance is set for 1 p.m. Thursday at the Boone County Courthouse.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office wrote on its social media on Monday that it was called to an area hospital at 11:37 p.m. Sunday after Boone Hospital said it had a patient with a gunshot wound. The hospital was identified as Boone Hospital in the probable cause statement. A woman had “an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound,” the post says.

Sharp allegedly shot the victim in the 1700 block of South El Centro Court after an argument, the post says. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Sharp’s residence and vehicle and found guns, the post and court documents say. Sharp has a felony conviction and is not allowed to possess guns, court documents say.

Another person was cited -- in the heavily redacted probable cause statement – as saying they heard the argument and a “pop” while on scene, court documents say.
