COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Wellsville man was charged on Wednesday with two counts of fourth-degree child molestation that allegedly occurred two years ago, court documents say.

Timothy Blaine Cross, 22, is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.

According to the probable cause statement, a teenager reported to authorities in Franklin County that they were sexually assaulted by a man in 2022 in Holts Summit. The youth stated they repeatedly told Cross “no” until eventually agreeing, the statement says.

The victim was able to identify Cross in a photo lineup provided by law enforcement, the statement says.

Cross spoke with authorities at the Mexico Department of Public Safety on Tuesday and allegedly stated the incident occurred at a party at a Holts Summit residence and claimed to be under the influence of drugs while it occurred, court documents say.
