Man accused of calling in threat to Eldon High School after student said they didn’t want to be in class

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A California, Missouri, man was charged with first-degree making a terrorist threat after he allegedly called in a gun threat to Eldon High School upon the request of a student.

A warrant was issued on Tuesday for Ernest Blair Jr. and a $25,000 bond was set. He was not listed on the Miller County Jail roster on Tuesday afternoon. The warrant requires Blair to not enter any Eldon school facility.

According to the probable cause statement, a juvenile “schemed a plan with” Blair to call in a gun threat to Eldon High School. Blair allegedly told the school there was someone with a gun at the school.

The juvenile allegedly told school officials that she asked Blair to call in the threat because she didn’t want to be in school on Monday, the statement says. The student also allegedly requested to have another person pose as her mom and call her out of school, the statement says.

Blair allegedly told the youth “no” before changing his mind after a series of text messages, court documents say.

Blair allegedly told police that the youth was “having suicidal thoughts” and asked him to call in a threat to get out of school, the statement says. Blair allegedly admitted to police that he made the threat.
