COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was charged with seven felonies after he was allegedly found with hundreds of doses of fentanyl.
Kyle Shepherd, 32, was charged with second-degree drug trafficking, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and four counts of unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.
The probable cause statement claims Shepherd was seen selling drugs several times and that he had an active warrant in an unrelated case. Police conducted a traffic stop on Shepherd after he left his residence. and found him with five fentanyl pills and $600, the statement says.
Police searched his residence and found 45 grams – or about 450 doses – of fentanyl, a baggie with about 100 Xanax pills, two baggies of cocaine and three-and-a-half pills of Oxycodone, the statement says. Police also found $3,500 in cash and four guns, the statement says.
The statement says that “different women give him money as his source of income.” Shepherd had a failure-to-appear warrant. Court records show that he pleaded guilty in 2020 to not paying child support for more than a year and was sentenced to probation. A probation violation was filed in 2021.
His bond in that case is set at $30,647.68. A hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15.
