St. Louis teenager charged with two felonies after multi-county chase

A St. Louis teenager was charged with a pair of felonies and misdemeanors after leading deputies on a chase on Monday night.

Mehki Cook, 18, was charged with aggravated fleeing, resisting arrest, two misdemeanors -- driving without a license and failing to obey a traffic control device – and failure to maintain vehicle plates, an infraction. He is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.

The probable cause statement says Cook was in a chase with Cooper County deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol before getting chased by Boone County deputies. Callaway County deputies then picked up the chase near Kingdom City, the statement says.

A caller reportedly told dispatchers that the 2018 Dodge Challenger Hellcat appeared to be attempting to “taking out several semis” while it was fleeing and swerving, the statement says.

Deputies deployed spikes near the Highway 54 interchange and Cook drove through them, drove on the off ramp and eventually came back to Interstate 70 after driving through a red light at the interchange, the statement says.

The Dodge reportedly then tailed other vehicles before wrecking, the statement says. Deputies then told Cook at gunpoint to get out of the vehicle and attempted to get him out of the drive-side window, the statement says.
