MONTGOMERY CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Cole Camp man was charged in Montgomery County on Monday with two counts of first-degree child molestation.

Michael Wayne Pitts was charged after court documents say he repeatedly sexually assaulted a child from 2014 through 2021. A warrant was issued on Monday and no bond was set. A court date has not been scheduled.

The probable cause statement says the victim was younger than 10 years old when the assaults began. The child reportedly told a family member about the assaults in 2021 and a parent filed the initial report. The probable cause statement was dated Jan. 31, 2022.
