A grand jury added a third felony charge last week to an indictment in a Columbia murder case.

Adam A. Conner of Columbia was charged with second-degree murder and evidence tampering in 2022 after a woman's body was found in a garage closet on High Quest Drive. Police have not named the victim. She was 58.

A grand jury last week added a charge of unlawful use of a weapon. The new indictment accuses Conner of using a hammer to kill her.

An autopsy showed the victim died from blunt force head trauma.

Conner was not in the Boone County Jail on Tuesday, according to jail records.

A trial is set for November.
