Boonville man charged after allegedly pointing gun at youth near Howard County Courthouse

FAYETTE, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Boonville man was charged with unlawful use of a weapon after he allegedly threatened a group of youth with a gun on Wednesday in Fayette.

Kadyn Lee, 19, is being held at the Howard County Jail without bond. He appeared in court for an arraignment on Friday. A bond hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16.

According to the probable cause statement, a group of people younger than 18 years old allegedly told police that Lee was standing outside of Emmet’s Kitchen and Tap while they were sitting on the Howard County Courthouse lawn.

Lee allegedly told the youth that “they don’t want to mess with him,” the probable cause statement says. He then allegedly showed the children that he had a gun in his waistband, the statement says. He then got into the passenger seat of a car driven by another person and left the area, the statement says.

The car eventually came back to the area and Lee allegedly yelled “who wants to die” at the youth while pointing a gun at them, court documents say.

Deputies eventually found the car in New Franklin and arrested Lee during a traffic stop, the statement says. Police found a gun and a 40-round clip in the car, according to court documents.
