Man charged with child sex crimes in Callaway County
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A man was charged on Thursday in Callaway County with multiple child sex crimes.
Matthew John Middleton was charged with statutory sodomy of a person younger than 12 years old, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and misdemeanor furnishing pornographic material to a minor.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on Friday. Court records list his address as St. Robert, but the probable cause statement says the assault occurred at a prior address in Holts Summit. A court date has not been set. He was not listed on a jail roster on Friday afternoon.
The probable statement says that Holts Summit police were contacted by St. Robert police on Aug. 7 after the victim told two people about a sexual assault. The victim also described the assault to law enforcement, the statement says.
