Man charged with six felonies in southern Callaway County shot-fired scene
PORTLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Holts Summit man was charged on Saturday after he allegedly fired a gun multiple times during an assault, according to court documents.
Shannon Frady, 32, was charged with two counts of second-degree domestic assault, one count of third-degree domestic assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and a count of armed criminal action. He is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond. An initial court appearance is set for noon Tuesday.
According to the probable cause statement, Callaway County deputies on Friday evening were called to an address in Portland, located in the southern portion of the county.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office previously wrote on its social media that there were two victims, but they were not hit with gunfire. Court documents claim Frady had got into a fight with one of the victims and the victim took a gun away from Frady.
A victim allegedly stated that Frady was drunk and accused a second victim of using drugs and infidelity, the statement says. Frady allegedly threatened to hit the second victim, who ran into the first victim’s residence and eventually ran into the woods with a witness and two youths at the residence, the statement says.
Frady allegedly pulled a gun on the first victim, but stopped pointing it at the victim after he was told to stop, the statement says. Frady and the victim began fighting. Frady had allegedly fired the gun in the air earlier while arguing with the second victim, the statement says. The first victim allegedly had a fractured cheekbone, bruised ribs and was bleeding from his eye, court documents say.
The second victim had allegedly told law enforcement that Frady made them get into a van after he fired a shot into the ground and pointed a gun at them, court documents say. Frady allegedly assaulted them by shoving them into a vehicle, slamming a door into their legs and eventually threatened to kill them, court documents claim.
Frady allegedly ran off after the fight, the statement says. Frady had also allegedly fired three shots at a home in the area, the statement says. Several shell casings were found in the area, according to court documents.
A witness gave law enforcement the gun that was allegedly used, which apparently had seven rounds remaining in a 12-round magazine, along with one more in the chamber, court documents say. Two more guns were found in Frady’s camper, the statement says.
Frady allegedly told deputies that he got into an argument with both victims and fought one of them before running into the woods, court documents say.
