Man charged with three felonies after crashing car during chase with Camden County deputy
CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Sullivan man was charged with three felonies after he crashed his car into a business during a chase with law enforcement on Saturday.
Seth Hedrick, 19, was charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and two misdemeanors – reckless driving and driving without a license. He is being held at the Camden County Jail on a $25,000 bond. A mugshot was not available on Monday evening.
According to the probable cause statement, a Camden County Sheriff’s deputy saw Hedrick driving a black Chevrolet Cavalier going 80 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. The deputy turned on his lights and tried to conduct a traffic stop, but Hedrick didn’t pull over and sped up to 90 mph, the statement says.
Hedrick’s vehicle eventually crashed into Buffalo Prairie Mercantile near the intersection of Highway 7 and Route E after losing control of the vehicle, the statement says. Court documents say that the Chevrolet left a “sizable hole in the wall.”
Hedrick and two other people were eventually seen near the vehicle and Hedrick started running away before the deputy used a Taser and arrested him, the statement says. Two employees of the business allegedly told deputies that Hedrick crashed into the building, the statement says.
