Ashland man pleads guilty to child sex crimes, sentencing set for Aug. 26

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Ashland man pleaded guilty on Monday to a pair of child sex crimes.

Justin Thomas Franks, 46, pleaded guilty to statutory sodomy and second-degree child molestation. He is being held at the Boone County Jail. His sentencing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

According to previous reporting, court documents say law enforcement was told that Franks molested the victim 16 times from February 2021-January 2024. During a recorded conversation on Wednesday, Jan. 24, Franks allegedly admitted to molesting the victim 15-20 times and stated additional sexual assaults occurred.

A probation violation hearing was also held on Monday. Franks was sentenced to probation in another case for missing child support payments. He faces a five-year sentence in that case.
