COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man who was charged with a pair of child sex crimes was arrested on Wednesday.

Francisco Rutiaga-Santoyo, 49, was charged in June with statutory sodomy of a child younger than 14 years old and first-degree child molestation.

His address was listed as Osage Beach on the Boone County Jail roster, but it was listed as Columbia on Casenet. The probable cause statement claims Rutiaga-Santoyo was “removed from” the country at the time the document was written in 2023.

He was booked into the Boone County Jail around 10 a.m. Wednesday and is being held without bond. An initial court appearance was held on Thursday. His next court date was not announced.

The probable cause statement says a child victim told law enforcement that Rutiaga-Santoyo sexually assaulted them over the course of multiple years.
