Man charged with several child sex crimes in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Gravois Mills man was charged with several child sex crimes on Wednesday.

Alex Alter was charged with two counts of second-degree statutory sodomy and one count of first-degree sexual misconduct, a misdemeanor. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Wednesday and no bond was set. He was not listed on the Morgan County jail roster on Wednesday afternoon. A court date has not been set.

According to the probable cause statement, the Laurie Police Department interviewed the victim on May 24 at Kids Harbor House. The victim allegedly said that Alter made them watch pornography on his cellphone and routinely inappropriately touch the child and ask them about their sex life, the statement says.

The victim also described a sexual assault that occurred in a room and was able to describe items in the room and other details, the statement indicates. Police searched the residence and saw the items the victim described, the statement says.
