Jefferson City Police investigating after early morning shooting

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City Police are investigating after a shooting took place early Friday morning.

According to a release from the Jefferson City Police Department, officers were called to the 200 block of North Taylor Street at 3:56 a.m. for a verbal disturbance.

Police said the caller said they saw a man fire a handgun twice.

Officers found evidence of a shooting, according to the release. No information was released about what type of evidence or the amount found.

Police said while investigating the scene a person arrived at a local hospital after being shot.

Jefferson City Police said in the release the victim was not cooperative and did not provide information to officers who responded to the hospital.

No suspect information was provided. It is unclear if anyone has been taken into custody.
