A man convicted in April of bonding women out of jail to rape them was sentenced Thursday to life in prison.

Francis H. Kempker was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences without parole for two rapes committed during spring 2016 at his Centertown shop, Cole County Prosecutor Locke Thompson wrote in a news release.

Kempker's victims testified at his sentencing and he continued to "take no responsibility for his actions," Thompson wrote.

The case's security level had been changed so the information was not available to the public in online court records. It wasn't clear when the case information would be made public again.

Thompson has said Kempker would “routinely bond women out of the Cole County Jail and then have them brought to his shop in Centertown, where the victims were physically abused and then raped in the spring and summer months of 2016.”

Kempker denied the allegations when he took the stand at his trial.
