Police: Man shoots employee at Rolla pharmacy during robbery
ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A pharmacy employee was shot on Wednesday during a robbery, the Rolla Police Department wrote on its Facebook page.
Police arrested Justin Wonsewitz, 41, of Rolla, following a chase on suspicion of first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Official charges have not yet been filed.
Police wrote that officers were called to Sinks Pharmacy on 10th Street in Rolla for a report of an active shooter who shot an employee. A 52-year-old victim was brought to Phelps Health by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, the post says. The name of the victim was not released in the post.
The post says Wonsewitz entered the pharmacy with a gun, demanded drugs and shot an employee. He allegedly took "an undisclosed amount" of drugs.
According to the post, Wonsewitz drove away in a black car that was seen heading east on 10th Street “at a high rate of speed.” Officers used a “forcible stopping technique which disabled the suspect’s vehicle” and Wonsewitz was arrested.
