Auxvasse man charged with child porn possession
AUXVASSE, Mo. (KMIZ)
An Auxvasse man was charged on Thursday with possessing child pornography.
Michael Cody Jenkins, 32, was booked into the Callaway County Jail at 10:55 a.m. Thursday. He is being held without bond. A hearing was held on Friday morning at the Callaway County Courthouse.
According to the probable cause statement, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes Task Force received a tip on Nov. 3, 2023, about child pornography being stored in an online platform. Additional data was received about an IP address on Jan. 11-12, the statement says. Jenkins was allegedly identified as the account holder on May 31, the statement says.
Jenkins allegedly denied knowing about child porn being on the web accounts, but claimed to have multiple accounts on the platform that was detected, court documents say.
A search warrant was ordered for Jenkins’ phone and examiners allegedly found more than 500 files of child pornography, the statement says. Court documents say that conversations were found where Jenkins talked about “desires to rape and murder children.”
