Court documents: Man found masturbating in front of Jefferson City salon

JEFFESRON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was charged on Wednesday after he was allegedly found masturbating in front of a salon on Dunklin Street.

Mac Cannell was charged with first-degree sexual misconduct, a misdemeanor. Court documents state he is in custody, but he did not appear on the Cole County Jail’s online roster on Wednesday afternoon. A warrant was issued and no bond was set. A court date has not been set.

Police were called to the 100 block of East Dunklin Street at 10:17 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a man masturbating in public. Cannell was allegedly outside the business when police arrived, according to the probable cause statement.

A witness allegedly told police that she saw Cannell masturbating on a bench while facing the road, court documents say. The woman allegedly said that Cannell has been known to harass female employees and clients of the business on a regular basis, court documents say. The woman stated that several young children were in the business, the probable cause statement says.

The witness began recording an interaction with Cannell – while he was masturbating -- where she told him he needed to leave, court documents say. Cannell then allegedly got up and started walking away.
