COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police on Tuesday identified two bodies found about a week ago inside a home.

The remains are those of Marcia Hess, 77, and Sara Fox, 50. They had last been seen May 8.

Police last week arrested Fox's ex-husband, Randall R. Fox, 51, of Columbia. Prosecutors charged him with two counts of murder, two counts of armed criminal action and evidence tampering.

Police had released information that the bodies had been found at a home in the 1700 block of Ridgemont Drive where an officer had talked to Randall Fox. Police found the bodies after getting a search warrant for the property.

At that time, police did not identify the bodies because they were waiting for more information.

Police found two bodies in the closet when they searched the house last week, a probable statement says. Both bodies had traumatic injuries and police found a chemical substance that causes a visible reaction when it comes into contact with blood, the statement says.

A motion to deny Randall Fox bond alleges he shot each victim at least once, wrapped their bodies in tarps and hid them in the closet for several days.

Randall Fox remains in the Boone County Jail. His next hearing is set for Wednesday.
