Homicide suspect in missing women investigation arrested by Columbia police on suspicion of murder

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man who is now being referred to as a suspect in a homicide investigation was arrested, the Columbia Police Department confirmed in a Thursday evening press release

Randall Fox, 51, was previously referred to as a “person of interest” in a missing persons investigation. Fox was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence, according to the release.

Randall Fox was listed on the Boone County Jail roster on Thursday evening, but no mugshot was available. Jail records say he is being held without bond. The jail site also includes an additional accusation of armed criminal action.

The release also says Fox was arrested "in connection to the double homicide that occurred in the 1700 block of Ridgemont Drive."

Officers were called Saturday to the 1700 block of Ridgemont Drive as part of a missing persons investigation. Police were trying to find Marcia Hess and Sara Fox. They found the two bodies, which are pending identification, a few days later, the Columbia Police Department said in a news release Wednesday.

Sara Elizabeth Fox, 50,  and her mother Marcia Hess, 77, were reported missing on Tuesday. They were last seen on May 8.
