Man who pleaded guilty to stealing circuit breakers in Jefferson City charged in Pettis County

A Washington state man who pleaded guilty last year to stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of circuit breakers from a Jefferson City Menards has been charged in Pettis County.

Marian Firu, of Renton, Washington, was charged on Monday with stealing more than $750 on April 27, 2023. Firu pleaded guilty in July to stealing more than $750 in Cole County. He was sentenced to five years of probation with a seven-year suspended sentence.

According to the probable cause statement filed on Monday, Firue was accused of stealing $2,898.74 worth of circuit breakers from a store in Pettis County.

According to previous reporting, he was accused of stealing $3,384 worth of circuit breakers in Jefferson City.

He was also charged with stealing more than $750 and misdemeanor resisting arrest in St. Peters, Missouri.

Previous reporting indicates that Firu was accused in a multi-state theft ring that involved Menards stores.
