A second man has been charged in relation to an exchange of gunfire that occurred Jan. 30 in the 500 block of Katy Drive in Boonville.

Travis Anderson Jones, of St. Louis, was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. A warrant was issued for his arrest and a $25,000 bond was set. A court date has not been scheduled.

Jarez Foulks was charged on Jan. 31 with two counts of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of a weapon. A case review is scheduled in his case for 9 a.m. Monday, May 13.

No injuries were reported, but a house was hit, according to previous reporting.

According to the probable cause statement, law enforcement responded to a shots fired call at 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 30 and a 19-year-old had told police that she was shot at by Jones.

The statement says officers found a home was “occupied by a 17-year-old.” That person allegedly told law enforcement that he was inside the house when he heard the sounds of something hitting the house. The statement says he went to the front of the house, saw a broken mirror and realized someone was shooting.

A Cooper County Sheriff’s deputy had interviewed Foulks, who claimed that he and Jones got into an argument and Foulks thought they were going to fight, the statement says. He allegedly told the deputy that Jones shot a gun at him and ran away. Foulks then allegedly said that he drove away and eventually came back, the statement says.

A 16-year-old was interviewed by law enforcement, who allegedly said they were talking to Jones in a driveway when Foulks came up to them and started shooting, court documents say. The 16-year-old started running away and allegedly saw Jones shoot back at Foulks, court documents say
