Columbia Police seek leads on three shots-fired scenes

Columbia police are hoping someone will come forward with leads after investigating gunshots at three separate scenes Wednesday.

The first was a call in the 5500 block of Volunteer Drive in east Columbia at about 3:45 p.m. Witnesses told police shots had been fired but police found no injuries.

Officers found a woman with injuries unrelated to the gunshots, the Columbia Police Department said in a news release.

The second call came about 30 minutes later in the 200 block of Sanford Avenue in central Columbia. Witnesses told police that shots were fired and police found property damage but no injuries, the release says.

The third incident happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 4600 block of Rice Road in northeast Columbia. Witnesses told police that shots were fired and property damage was reported but no injuries, police say.
