COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man was killed and another was taken to a hospital after a report of shots fired in a north Columbia neighborhood Wednesday.

A Columbia Police Department spokesperson said one man had been shot to death and another was injured on Doris Drive. It wasn't clear how the second man was injured, the spokesperson said.

Police don't know whether the shooting happened outside or inside a home, spokesperson Jenny Hopper said. Hopper said she didn't know the condition of the hospitalized man.

At least 10 police cruisers and medics were at the scene.

An ABC 17 News reporter at the scene saw a woman in handcuffs.

Hopper said police did not have anyone in custody following the shooting. Hopper said there were no persons of interest. However, she said they did not believe there was an active threat to the community.

A woman could be overheard at the scene yelling at police officers, claiming it was her brother who died.

The scene drew a large crowd of neighbors questioning what had occurred. Most neighbors noted they had never seen that many police officers in the area before.
