COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police are investigating inside and around the Popeyes location on Business Loop 70 in Columbia after a damage from an apparent gunshot was observed..

A woman told ABC 17 News that someone had shot her car. An ABC 17 News reporter saw four police officers on the scene. The scene cleared by 9:15 p.m.

A woman – who wished to not be identified – told ABC 17 News that she was in the turn lane on Business Loop to pull into Popeyes. She said she saw a car behind her pull onto her passenger side. The woman then heard several pops and her windows shattered. She pulled into the Popeyes parking lot and parked.

The entrance to Popeye's was blocked off and a hole was seen in the glass window at the front of the building. Glass shards could be seen in the road, according to the reporter.

CPD Sgt. Shawn Claypool said at scene that two shell casings were found in the road and that no injuries were reported. Claypool also said that no suspects are in custody and police are working to gather surveillance footage.

A worker at Popeyes, Jacob Rosner told ABC 17 News that he, a few co-workers and a family were inside of the building when it first happened. He said he thought it was a rock being thrown at the window when he first heard the noise.

"The father of the family of two threw his son to the ground after we heard like a loud crack, which we thought was a rock like someone might have just, or like a car might have like kicked a rock," Rosner said. "And we asked him what was that and he said that was a gunshot and then one of my coworkers ran to the bathroom."
