Ashland man charged with first-degree domestic assault
ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)
An Ashland man was charged with two counts of first-degree domestic assault after authorities say he caused large cuts to a victim that led to bleeding and other injuries on Sunday night.
Kyle Anderson Wren, 38, is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.
Court documents say Wren threw a dinner plate at the victim and caused a 3-inch cut in the back of their head. He then allegedly took parts of a broken dinner plate and threw them at the victim, causing another 3-inch cut on their neck, below their jaw line and near an artery.
The victim had an eye injury when Wren threw a glass perfume bottle and hit the victim in their right eye, the probable cause statement says. The victim’s eyelid became swollen shut and they were unable to open it, according to court documents. The victim also had cuts to the inside of their mouth, which caused bleeding and made it difficult for them to talk, the statement says.
The victim was brought to University Hospital by ambulance and was treated for a broken jaw, broken right orbital bone, cuts to their neck and back of their head, swollen eye lids and cuts to their mouth, court documents say.
The probable cause statement says that Ashland police found Wren sleeping in his vehicle, that was “packed with most of his personal items as if he was leaving town until the vehicle ran out of gasoline.”
