COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was charged on Friday with two counts of second-degree statutory rape.

A warrant was ordered for Charles Domenic Johnson, 30, and no bond was set. He was not listed on the Boone County Jail roster on Friday afternoon. A court date has not been set.

According to the probable cause statement the victim told police on Feb. 16 that they were sexually assaulted by Johnson and described an encounter. Johnson had allegedly drove the victim to Indian Hills Park and sexually assaulted them. The victim provided law enforcement screenshots that allegedly showed a Facebook Messenger exchange between Johnson and the victim where Johnson apparently described the encounter and asked to meet again.

The last message was timestamped as Jan. 24, according to the statement. The victim had told law enforcement that the assault allegedly occurred in early December.

Johnson was previously charged on July 6 with first-degree sexual misconduct, a misdemeanor. A bench trial was scheduled in that case for 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 14. The probable cause statement in that case says Johnson exposed himself to a DoorDash driver who made a delivery to his residence. An entry of appearance was filed on Friday.
