Charges have been filed on a Columbia woman who was accused of shooting at a car Monday night on Brown Station Road in Columbia.

Carra Maleghia Brooks, 27, was charged with first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Jail records indicate that she has a court appearance at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. She is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.

According to a heavily redacted probable cause statement, a person was called to pick up the victim at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Brown Station Road because she and Brooks were "fighting." As the victim was getting in the car, Brooks allegedly fired a round in the air before shooting at the car twice, the statement says.

No injuries were reported. Police found a shell casing in the parking lot and another shell casing was found in the cracked concrete next to the front door of the building, the statement says. Brooks allegedly admitted to shooting the gun twice, the statement says.

According to the probable cause statement, police executed a search warrant of Brooks’ residence and found a gun with ammunition matching the spent shell casings they found.
