Fulton man sentenced 15 years for federal drug charges, Morgan County woman gets two years
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Fulton man and a Florence woman were both sentenced in federal court on Friday for drug crimes, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.
Matthew Gunnar White, 32, and Krista Huddleston, 30, were sentenced in separate court appearances, the release states. White was sentenced to 15 years in prison without parole, while Huddleston was sentenced to two years and six months without parole. The pair had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, the release states.
White was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Huddleston, that was being chased by law enforcement on Dec. 6, 2021, the release states.
During the chase, White apparently threw “baggies” of methamphetamine out of the window, the release states. The vehicle went off the roadway into a field on County Road 302 before reentering the roadway, the release states. The vehicle was eventually stopped by a deputy and the pair were arrested. The release states that White was “responsible for” about 12.5 pounds of meth (5.69 kilograms).
According to the release, the baggies of meth totaled about a quart of a pound (107 grams), just over 2 pounds of (929 grams) were found in the car and about a pound (456) was found in a sealed container in the field near the vehicle.
The release states that a codefendant -- Christopher James Breaux, 39, of Mexico, Missouri – was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Sept. 7 after pleading guilty to drug trafficking.
