A Columbia man was charged with second-degree making a terroristic threat after authorities say he threatened to shoot employees at Zimmer Communications in Columbia.

Parker John Boggs, 35, was booked into the Boone County Jail at 4:41 a.m. Friday, according to jail records. He was not listed on the jail roster on Friday afternoon. A court date has not been set.

According to the probable cause statement, a manager at the radio company told police on Jan. 26 that the business received a threatening phone call from Boggs, who named himself in the message. Boggs allegedly told the company to “stop mentioning him on air” and then threatened to “shoot them in the face,” the statement says.

The manager allegedly told police that the name “John Boggs” was associated with the phone number that made the call, according to the statement. The phone number apparently matched a phone number that previously called law enforcement, the statement says.

The manager had printed out the image and told others to lock the doors because of the threat.

Police showed an image of Boggs to the manager, and it matched the photograph the manager had printed out, the statement says.

Columbia police later spoke with another person, who told them that Boggs called them later and told them he made the threat.
