Sedalia business owner pleads guilty to not paying employment taxes

A Sedalia business owner pleaded guilty on Thursday for not paying nearly $136,000 in employment taxes, according to a press release from the Department of Jusice.

Floyd H. Kronk III, 48, has owned Transition Construction since 2010 and had between six-to-15 employees, according to the release. He withheld their federal income tax withholdings from his employees’ paychecks and did not file timely employment tax return sand “did not deposit any part of the trust fund taxes he withheld from his employees,” the release states.

The release states that Kronk withheld $135,785 from his employees’ paycheck from 2014-17. There was also a tax loss from Kronk for “relevant conduct” from 2011-13 that totaled $69,280, the release states.
