Eldon man arrested after child shot, dies

ELDON, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Eldon man is facing charges after a boy was found dead in a home on Sunday.

According to an Eldon Police news release, first responders were called to the 600 block of North Mill Street for a report of a shooting that had already occurred.

A boy was found lifeless with a gunshot wound to his head, according to the release. Police said medics tried to save him but were unsuccessful.

Albert Keel, 27, was charged by the Miller County Prosecutor's Office with first-degree child endangerment resulting in death, according to the Eldon Police. Information about the case was not available early Monday afternoon in online court records.

Keel was booked into the Miller County Jail just after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to online jail records.

The victim's name and their relationship to Keel have not been released.
