QUESTION OF THE DAY: Does Missouri need harsher penalties for ‘swatting?’
Police were sent to Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft's home Sunday night on a bogus call.
In an example of what's called "swatting," Ashcroft says someone called police telling them there had been a shooting at the Jefferson City home. Ashcroft said he had to exit his home slowly with his hands empty.
Missouri Sen. Caleb Rowden (R-Columbia) wants to create harsher penalties for swatting, which is a misdemeanor under state law.
