Columbia man arrested, accused of robbing Walgreens
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was arrested and charged on Friday after he was accused of robbing the Walgreens on East Broadway.
Michael Vaughn, 32, was charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree assault. He is being held without bond at the Boone County Jail.
According to the probable cause statement, Vaughn was seen walking into the Walgreens on video at 8:25 a.m. Friday. He then allegedly approached the register, told the clerk that he had a gun and demanded the clerk give him “all the money,” the statement says.
The statement says Vaughn did not pull out a weapon, but the employee stated it appeared there was something else in Vaughn’s pocket, other than his hand. Vaughn then allegedly took $434 and left, the statement says.
Police found Vaughn near the intersection of Wilkes Boulevard and Rangeline Street. The victim had identified Vaughn to police, the statement says.
Police searched Vaughn and found $439, according to the statement. Court documents do not state if a gun was found.
