Johnson County Sheriff’s Office searching for person of interest in homicide investigation

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a person of interest in a homicide investigation that is being conducted in Warrensburg, according to a Facebook post.

The Sheriff's Office stated in the post that two people were found dead in the 200 block of South Highway 13. Deputies are looking for Jonathan Goodwin Jr., 20, of Warrensburg in connection to the case.

"We assure the public that every resource is being deployed to apprehend the person of interest and to understand the full scope of this incident," the Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook.

The original post said there was a "significant police presence in the area" and the Warrensburg Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in the investigation.
