Friday lockdowns in Moberly occurred after woman allegedly shot gun at apartment
MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A woman accused of shooting a gun that led to much of Moberly to lockdown on Friday had an arraignment scheduled for Monday.
Jeanette Nicole Tolson, 44, was charged on Friday with armed criminal action and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. She is being held at the Randolph County Jail without bond. Court records indicate her residence is Moberly, while jail records indicate her residence is Huntsville.
According to the probable cause statement, a woman allegedly told police that she was in her apartment when she heard a gunshot outside the residence and saw a woman with a gun running from the area. She also took video of the woman, who was wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans while running northbound.
Another witness allegedly saw Tolson in an empty lot north of Thompson Street, according to court documents. Tolson allegedly told him that she was justified shooting the gun because her husband was “being unfaithful to her,” documents say. Tolson then allegedly fired a gun at an upstairs apartment in the 100 bock of Elizabeth Street.
Another witness allegedly saw Tolson in the 500 block of West Rollins Street with a gun pointed as a redacted location. A video was eventually shown to police that allegedly showed Tolson holding a gun behind her back. Photos of Tolson were posted to social media during the several-hour search and Tolson was identified to police by a family member, the probable cause statement says.
After Tolson was arrested, she allegedly said, “I have every right to shoot him for what he’s done to me,” among other similar statements, the statement says. The name referring to “he” in that context was redacted in the statement.
Police allegedly informed Tolson that the man she was looking for was not present at the address she shot at, but she argued he was, according to the statement.
