Jefferson City man charged, accused of threatening workers in Columbia
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was charged with four misdemeanors after allegedly threatening employees Friday at multiple businesses on Business Loop 70 in Columbia.
Tyler Schnieders, 28, was charged in Boone County with a peace disturbance, first-degree trespassing and two counts of fourth-degree assault. He is being held in the Boone County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.
According to the probable cause statement, Schnieders went into TC Nails on Business Loop 70 around 3 p.m. before pointing at employees with “finger guns” and yelling racially charged statements and tearing down a sign.
He then walked into Imo’s Pizza to fill out a job application, the statement says.
The probable cause statement says Schnieders got as far as writing his name on the application before getting into an argument with an employee. He was allegedly told to leave by at least three employees before throwing a cup and stapler at them. He then threatened to cut one of their throats and said, “You better watch out for your kids,” according to the statement.
One employee allegedly showed a video to law enforcement, where Schnieders was allegedly seen in a “boxer’s stance” with his fists raised while yelling racial slurs.
Police found Schnieders in the 100 block of Business Loop 70 West, where he stated he was “goin’ to do something dangerous.”
