10-year-old detained after school threat made in Miller County

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 10-year-old boy was detained after a threat was made against a school, according to a social media post from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said online that it received an anonymous tip about a social media threat against a school, though no specific school was mentioned. Local schools were notified -- according to the post -- and a 10-year-old boy was detained and allegedly admitted to making a video posted on social media containing the threat.

The post states the boy was “released to his parents” and that a request for charges was submitted. The child was not named in the post.
