Jefferson City woman accused of stealing more than $52,000 of welfare benefits
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City woman was charged on Monday after she was accused of stealing $52,518.31in welfare benefits.
Taylor Allee, 31, was charged with stealing more than $25,000 and unlawfully receiving more than $750 of public assistance. A criminal summons was issued on Tuesday and an initial court appearance was scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Cole County Circuit Court.
The probable cause statement says Allee submitted several applications for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits and Child Care benefits and allegedly did not report the father of her children in her household or his income.
The statement says she received $26,465 from SNAP and $26,053.31 in Child Care subsidies from April 2018 through December 2022.
Another Jefferson City woman, Abisoye Jones, was also accused of stealing more than $37,000 in welfare benefits and was charged with stealing $25,000 or more and unlawfully receiving more than $750 in public assistance benefits.Â
