Moniteau County deputy hurt in Cooper County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Moniteau County sheriff's deputy was hurt early Saturday when he wrecked his patrol car in neighboring Cooper County.

Bryan Weaver, 45, of California, Missouri, was driving on Oakland Church Road in Cooper County, north of Clarksburg, when his Ford Explorer went off the road during a chase and hit a phone pole, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Weaver was taken by ambulance to Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City with minor injuries, the patrol's report says.

Capital Region and Moniteau County Sheriff Tony Wheatley did not respond to questions seeking more information Monday morning.
