COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police say they found evidence of a shooting in the Cosmo Park area before a person was found shot at a north Columbia motel Saturday night

Officers were sent to the 1600 block of West Business Loop 70 a little before 11 p.m. and found evidence that shots had been fired, according to a Columbia Police Department spokesperson. They then found out that a person in the 1300 block of Range Line Street had been shot, the spokesperson said.

An ABC 17 News reporter found a large police presence at the Super 7 Motel on Range Line Street that night. The manager told ABC 17 News that he heard honking come from down the street and the shooting victim then arrived at the motel, where someone called 911.

The victim was taken to a hospital by ambulance, CPD says. CPD didn't detail the victim's injury or their medical condition after the shooting.
