Moberly man accused of exposing himself to several children

MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Moberly man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly exposed himself to at least five children.

Robert Conner, 61, was charged with sexual misconduct involving a child younger than 15 years old. He was booked into the Randolph County Jail on Saturday and remains there. He has a bond hearing set for 2:30 p.m. Monday. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.

According to the probable cause statement, police responded to a peace disturbance at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church Park in the 100 block of south 4th Street.

Police spoke with a man who said Conner exposed himself to the man’s daughter and several other minors, according to the probable cause statement. All five children – ages 7-16 – that Conner showed them his genitalia. One of the youth allegedly called Conner a “pedo,” to which Conner allegedly showed them his genitalia.

Conner was charged in another case with unlawful use of a weapon. According to court documents, Conner was yelling “racial statements” at a woman when police arrived to a call on June 25. The woman stated she confront him, verbally, but did not walk towards him. Conner then allegedly began walking towards her with a knife, which is when she called the police.

Conner allegedly told police he was “using his freedom of speech,” and claimed the woman became angry and approached him. Conner told police he had the knife for self-defense, according to the probable cause statement.

A witness told police they saw Conner yell “racial terms” and then walk towards the woman with a knife, according to the probable cause statement.
