Three charged in relation to alleged kidnapping in Audrain County

Three people have been charged in relation to an alleged kidnapping that took place Saturday in Audrain and Boone counties.

Axil Carrero-Ojeda, 22, was charged on Monday with first-degree kidnapping and second-degree domestic assault. Jonder Gilvergada, 34, and Raimari Janez-Almao, 24, were each charged with second-degree kidnapping and fourth-degree domestic assault. A social media post from the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office says all three are from Venezuela. Casenet indicates they are all residents of Mexico, Missouri.

The Sheriff’s Office said in the post that all three were to be held until formal charging and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement action. A warrant was issued for Carrero-Ojeda, according to Casenet. He has a confined docket hearing scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Gilvergada and Janez-Almao were released from jail Monday on conditions, including note traveling outside of Missouri, staying at an address they provided to the court, contacting the pretrial administrator, not use or possess alcohol, maintain or obtaining employment or an educational program and to not possess a gun.

Gilvergada and Janez-Almao have an initial court appearance scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim met with law enforcement Sunday at True North and stated they were not allowed to leave a residence in Audrain County. The victim allegedly told law enforcement they were strangled by Carrero-Ojeda and beat by all three defendants, according to three probable cause statements.

A deputy noted in the probable cause statement that they noticed marks on the victim’s neck and an abrasion on their chin.

One of the probable cause statements says Gilvergada drove a vehicle containing the victim and the other two defendants. The victim was allegedly kicked out of the vehicle in Columbia. Gilvergada allegedly admitted to driving the vehicle, court documents say.
