Jefferson City man accused of stealing $12,000 of electronics from church
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was arrested and charged after he was accused of stealing $12,000 worth of electronics from a church.
Lyndell Deshawn Dale, 28, is charged with first-degree burglary and stealing more than $750. He is being held without bond at the Cole County Jail. A court date has not been set.
The probable cause statement says a church called police on Saturday after learning about $12,000 worth of electronics were stolen. Surveillance footage allegedly shows a suspect entering the building through an unlocked door and stealing property.
A door was unlocked because people were inside for Bible study, according to the probable cause statement. The video allegedly shows Dale taking electronics from the church and bringing them to a wood line on Buena Vista Street several times.
Jefferson City Public Housing Authority video footage on Buena Vista Street allegedly showed Dale loading the items into a GMC Yukon, the statement says.
The SUV was identified by law enforcement on Tuesday and the driver -- described as a codefendant in the probable cause statement – allegedly gave conflicting statements to police before admitting he picked up Dale.
The probable cause statement says the codefendant learned the items were stolen later. He allegedly told police that he didn’t know what to do with the items after learning they were stolen.
