ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Ashland man was arrested federally charged Monday after he is accused of creating child pornography.

Scott Alan Barker, 31, is accused of creating and featuring himself in a video showing child pornography. The case was file in the Western District of Missouri and was charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a child. A detention hearing is set for Thursday.

On Tuesday, July 11, Homeland Security Investigations agents in St. Louis information about a child sex abuse video recovered by United Kingdom law enforcement from a device of a suspect in their own investigation from 2022, according to court documents.

HIS compared the image of the adult with publicly available images and found it likely matched Barker. Law enforcement found Barker’s social media accounts and were able to identify him, the victim and elements of the background in the video, court documents say.

HIS executed a search warrant Monday and inspected the residence, which allegedly matched the background of the video. Another person was interviewed, who was shown a screenshot of the video and identified Barker, according to court documents.

Barker allegedly admitted he was in the video, according to court documents.
