COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department said in a Wednesday press release that it is searching for four people accused in a June 26 homicide.

 CPD is searching for:

  • Alqueze Jones, 19
  • Deljuan Turner, 19
  • Ja’shaun Barney, 18
  • Deazes Turner, 21

All four Columbia men are charged with second-degree murder, armed-criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. They are wanted in connection to death of Deshon Joseph Houston, 33, who was found dead outside of a home in the 3200 block of Dove Drive.

CPD said in the release that residents should not approach them and should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has information related to their location or regarding the incident, contact CPD at 573.874.7652 or CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477.

A search into the background of the four men found that Jones was charged with a felony in May for tampering with a vehicle. An initial appearance is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday July 19 at the Boone County Courthouse.

Barney was also charged with tampering with evidence in May. A bond forfeiture hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15. He was also charged with fourth-degree assault charge in March.

Deazes Turner pleaded guilty in January obstructing government operations, a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation with a 30-day suspended sentence.

Police have already arrested Jajuan Crockett, 21; Damarkus Williams, 18; and Bryton Allen, 19, all of Columbia, in connection with the homicide investigation.

Allen, Crockett and Williams were also charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. All three men are being held in the Boone County Jail without bond.

All three men pleaded not guilty. Allen and Crocket have confined docket hearings scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at the Boone County Courthouse. A preliminary hearing for Allen is set for 9 a.m. Thursday, July 20, and Crockett's is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 25.

Williams had a hearing Wednesday and a motion for continuance was filed. A bond hearing is set for 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Police responded to a home in the 3200 block of Dove Drive around 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 26 for a shots fired, where they found a man dead, later identified as Houston. Police then responded to a second scene in the 3800 block of West Gibbs Street near Interstate 70 Drive Northwest that they said was connected to the Dove Drive scene.

Officers responded to a crash on West Gibbs Road and believe the four suspects in the death on Dove Drive were in the crashed vehicle, fled went into the woods and were "possibly armed."

Allen was one of the men accused of shooting from two vehicles, a white Ford Explorer and a gold Acura, when Houston was shot in the head, according to court documents. The vehicles sped away from the scene after the shooting and the Ford Explorer, which had allegedly been stolen, crashed.

Multiple law enforcement agencies searched the area for hours with K-9s and helicopters but the suspects were not found at the time.

The SUV had bullet holes in it, police say. Witnesses described people shooting from the SUV and someone standing up in the Acura's sunroof and firing a gun.

Police believe Crockett was in the SUV and Williams was in the Acura. Allen's alleged role isn't clear from the heavily redacted probable cause statement filed in his case.
