A Columbia man was sentenced in federal court Tuesday for possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.

Warren Andre Washington, 30, was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison without parole.

Washington pleaded guilty on Nov. 29 to possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute, according to the release.

The press release states Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a chase with a stolen Audi A7 in April 2021, but the pursuit was ended for safety reasons. A few days later, Columbia police officers located the stolen vehicle and recovered a Walmart receipt in the vehicle. Walmart surveillance video allegedly showed Washington driving the stolen vehicle and making a purchase.

Washington was eventually arrested while in possession of Oxycodone tablets and $4,442 in cash. Inside his vehicle, officers found a clear baggie that contained 47.2 grams of fentanyl.

Officers also executed a search warrant at Washington’s residence and found multiple guns and large-capacity magazines, which were allegedly involved with a shooting, according to the release. Officers also found keys to the stolen Audi hanging on a hook near the door to the garage.
