Trooper accused of sexual abuse has peace officer license suspended
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper who has been accused of sexual abuse has had his peace officer license suspended, according to a Missouri Department of Safety spokesman.
Jeffery Gilmore Durbin, 30, of Madison, Missouri, is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and third-degree kidnapping, a misdemeanor. An arraignment is set for 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 26, at the Boone County Courthouse.
A lawyer with the state requested a hearing with the Administrative Hearing Commission on June 8 for Durbin's license.
According to the probable cause statement, Durbin met with the alleged victim on March 23 at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Columbia and forced himself on her. The woman told police she tried to leave, but was cornered by Durbin and repeatedly told him, "no," according to the statement.
Court documents say Durbin apologized to the woman the next day.
